Put temporary facilities into the site responsibility plan

A work programme involves more than a delivery date. Identify who is responsible for the facilities while the site changes hands between trades and supervisors.

Before mobilisation

Establish who is permitted to use indoor restrooms and which workers need an alternative. Explain the anticipated crew pattern, the site opening schedule and who has authority to accept the proposed outdoor position.

Check that the first supplier visit fits the property’s receiving arrangements. If access depends on another contractor opening a gate or removing an obstruction, resolve that dependency before relying on the appointment.

During overlapping work

Provide updates when another trade arrives or the occupied work zone changes. A plan made for one group may need review when more people share the facilities or when the approach becomes busy with materials.

Name the contact for maintenance questions and keep them informed about the agreed service scope. Avoid leaving temporary facilities outside the handover notes merely because they are not part of the building itself.

At practical completion

Confirm whether finishing work, cleanup or security personnel still require facilities. The main contractor leaving does not automatically mean the equipment can be collected immediately.

Agree who will provide collection access after handover. Use this responsibility guide alongside the construction equipment page; it does not replace the project’s safety, permit or site-management requirements.
